Tribute to Lucian Freud, 2011, Brian J. Hettler
For those of you who have not heard, Lucian Freud has died at the age of 88. I am deeply saddened by his death. He was perhaps one of the most brilliant painters to have ever lived and was by far one of the most influential and uncompromising figures in contemporary art, never ceasing to portray the grit and beauty of those he held close to him. He has been an enormous inspiration to me over the years and I would like to dedicate this piece to him. His legacy and profound contribution to the world of painting will not be forgotten.
